One of the most powerful truths about being an artist is that we are all forever students. There’s always a way to do something better; a new technique or skill to master; a new way of sharing the story in our hearts. And in the world of dance there are so many chances and opportunities to do just that but one of the unique things about attending a festival is that it is more than taking classes, it is the chance to collaborate, commiserate and the chance to ride the energy of fellow attendees like a wave.
Jamballah NW seeks to be that kind of festival. It is more than the sum of its classes (although there are some great ones) it is about bringing together established artists, budding artists, and enthusiasts. It is the chance to step outside your comfort zone and try a style of movement you don’t normally take. Or perhaps, taking a style you know well from a different instructor to hear how they approach the dance. Or, even just getting together with the tribe and making new friends.
I hope you’ll consider joining us this August. Registration is now open.
