Below is all current information for team lipstick, competition makeup, earrings, hair requirements, accessories, tights, shoes, and more. Please review carefully.

1. Team Lipstick (Minis, Juniors, Teens, and Production)

Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink – Shade 019 “My Own Boss.”
Please make sure dancers have this by January.

It is currently cheapest at Walmart, but pricing may change with Black Friday sales.

2. Senior Contemporary & Ballet Lipstick

These groups will use a different shade to better match their pastel costumes.
We are testing options in class this week and are hoping to have a final color byThursday.

3. Competition Earrings – Action Needed

All comp dancers need the official competition team earrings either in regular pierced earrings or clip-ons.
They will use these every year, so this should be a one-time purchase unless lost.  We have to order these ourselves via the Weissman site, I will charge your account $12 for earrings if you order any. Please reply to this email if your dancer needs earrings letting me know:If your dancer needs comp earrings, whether you want regular or clip-on

4. Black Friday Makeup Shopping List

If you plan to buy competition makeup during Black Friday, dancers will need:

  • Team lipstick
  • Primer
  • Concealer
  • Powder
  • Brown eyeshadow trio (dark brown for corners, light brown for lid, medium shade for center) I have attached an image that shows the type of colors we usually use for our brown smokey eye
  • Foundation
  • Black mascara
  • Black eyeliner (liquid felt-tip recommended)
  • Blush
  • Makeup remover or wipes

Please review carefully, as every routine has specific hair-piece and accessory requirements.

Minis

  • Hair: Half up, half down
  • Style: Curled
  • Accessory: Ribbon in their assigned rainbow color (Ashley will provide)

Juniors

  • Jazz: Bow worn on top of the bun
  • Lyrical: Flower worn on top of the bun, right side

Teen Jazz

  • Rhinestone strip placed along the middle part
  • Black 4 inch zip ties required to secure sunglasses

  • plan on packing a nail clippers in their comp bag or makeup bag to take these off

Teen Contemporary

  • Headband, which must be securely fastened with either bobby pins or clear zip ties

Senior Contemporary

Ballet

  • Hairpiece worn on the right side of the bun

Production

All junior teens and seniors will have the same hair as last year, middle part, braided low bun. 

7. New Team Members – Gift Idea

For new dancers who need everything, since it is such a big purchase to buy all the team makeup,  consider purchasing a cute and functional makeup bag or tote and filling it with the required items as a Christmas gift.

8. Team Practice/Showcase – February 21

At the team practice/showoff on February 21, we will demonstrate and teach you how to do competition makeup and hair before dancers perform all their competition routines at NOSD that evening. Schedule will come in January.

9. Backless Clear-Strap Bras

Needed for:

  • Teen Jazz
  • Teen Contemporary
  • Possibly Junior Lyrical

Theatricals brand is currently on sale.

Pasties may work for dancers who don’t need support but want to have some padding. 

10. Required Tights- have 2 of each type needed in case one rips at a competition

Production – Juniors, Teens, Seniors

12. Lifeknit Sox – Senior & Teen Contemporary

These two groups need Capezio Lifeknit Sox ll from a specific website only (other sites often send the wrong version even though the name is the same).

Colors:

  • Skintone 30 (matches light suntan tights)
  • Skintone 60 (matches maple tights)
