Mr. Malcolm Nieves
Instructor
Malcolm Nieves is a choreographer, competitive hip hop coach, street dancer, co-creator of Wisconsin’s Krump movement (WI Buck), and founder of the Nieves Realty Team. A self-taught hip hop dancer from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Malcolm began battle dancing and competing with Bradford’s Finest before a life-changing faith experience at age 15 led him to Christ and mentorship under Louis Hurd, founder of Rhemadance Dance Studio. Under Louis and Lakeisha Hurd, Malcolm trained in hip hop, contemporary, and African dance.
Malcolm further developed his craft through extensive training, including the Word and Motion Christian Dance Conference in California, studying Lockin, Latin Funk, and House, and breakdancing under Milwaukee legend Mijo of Motion Disorder. He has trained with renowned artists including Tight Eyez (creator of Krump), Beast, Philip “PacMan” Chbeeb, Christopher Gilbert, Cedric Gardner, Ian Eastwood, and others. From 2014–2015, Malcolm trained as a professional ballroom instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studio, where he choreographed and performed the first hip hop routine at the Fred Astaire World Championship in Las Vegas.
Malcolm has choreographed numerous award-winning pieces across Wisconsin and participated in a mission trip to Uganda with Dance Mission International, teaching dance and sharing the gospel. While now working full-time in real estate alongside his wife, Donielle Nieves, Malcolm continues to make select appearances as a dance coach, serving youth and the community through dance ministry.
